Store icons and small images in table (1 reply)

Hi, I would like to store icons and thumbnails along with the data in my table e.g. company logo, spark-lines etc

What blob-size would be ideal and not impact the database engine adversely?

Also, can you recommend a tool to reduce the image size without cropping, by which I mean, cutting parts of it out. I was thinking of using GIMP or paint.net
